Suh has been in the league for more than 10 years now and is considered a top-tier defensive tackle. While Suh would’ve been a great addition to the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones did not attempt to sign him. Subsequently, the defensive tackle was acquired by the Philadelphia Eagles, one of the Cowboys’ biggest competitors right now.
As of now, The Eagles are on the top of the NFC East table with 8 wins. With the veteran’s addition, the Eagles’ defense is only going to get stronger. Furthermore, one of the Cowboys’ biggest shortcomings is their defense. He would’ve been a great addition to the team.
In light of this public knowledge, there was a slight shock among NFL fans when Jones did not attempt to even make a move for the star veteran. Jerry Jones did make his intentions about the acquisition very clear. He mentioned that there was absolutely no contact between the Cowboys and Suh. Additionally, Jones talks about how he is content with the way the defense is shaping up.
He said, “I like where we are with our big boys in the middle. And I like our big boys and what we’re trying to accomplish. We got some very talented guys, prototypes that fit us perfectly and go with what we’re trying to do with our edge rushing and really our internal pressure.”
Subsequently, the Cowboys seemed to have addressed the defensive concerns of the team by trading for Raiders’ defensive tackle, Johnathan Hankins.
