The New York Jets recently traded and hit the jackpot by bringing in Aaron Rodgers. The team had been looking for a missing veteran piece to shore up their offense and they’ve definitely got it. However, the 2023 Draft proved that they weren’t done yet. They went on to draft some extra help for the quarterback’s offense. And they’ve gone the monstrous route.

In the 7th round, the Jets got a little lucky and drafted an interesting addition to their offense. Interestingly, the Jets drafted a tight end who is a whopping 6 feet and 8 inches tall.

The Jets have quite literally gone big with their 7th-round pick in the NFL draft. They’ve drafted Zack Kuntz, a tight end from the Old Dominion. As per the New York Post, he is 6-foot-8, 255-pounder, and ran a 4.55-second 40-yard dash at the combine. The tight end also finished first among the tight ends, with the highest jump of 40 inches. Furthermore, he also bench-pressed 23 repetitions of 225 pounds.

Among those recruiting for the Jets, Kuntz was referred to as the Freak. Considering his physique as well as his records on the different physicals, this title seems very apt. He would also add immense value to the offense that the Jets are building around the veteran QB they acquired. Interestingly, this addition came days after Rodgers’ old teammate has also been added to the roster.

Aaron Rodgers and his old pal from Green Bay

While the Jets have done great with their draft picks, their offense has already gotten very strong. In addition to adding Kuntz and Rodgers, they even traded a well-accomplished wide receiver from the Green Bay Packers. A few weeks before Rodgers went to the Jets, they traded with the Packers for Allen Lazard. They signed a 4-year $44 million deal for him. This has become a good trade for the Jets, considering Lazard’s record with the Packers. In the past 5 seasons, he has scored a total of 20 touchdowns and a total of 2,306 yards. With the trio of Rodgers, Kuntz, and Lazard,

With the kind of help they have brought in to shore the offensive effort, the Jets are going at their rebuilding effort vigorously. It only remains to be seen how the efforts to trade and draft will pan out in the upcoming season.
