Patrick Mahomes’s Mother Randi Mahomes Poured “Mad Respect” for Tom Brady and Her Son, Moments Ahead of Chiefs vs. Bucs Matchup: “My Son and a Man Basically My Age”

Mothers are almost always fanatics of their kids. Whether it is a class race, or a Super Bowl game, mothers will always be at the front rooting for their kids. But Patrick Mahomes’ mother seems to have taken a different approach to this. Prior to the Week 4 matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Randi Mahomes took to Twitter to cheer her son, and also show her respect to Bucs QB and NFL legend, Tom Brady.

Randi Mahomes was married to Patrick Lavon Mahomes, Mahomes Jr’ father, but the couple filed for divorce while he was still a teenager. Although separated, his parent showered him with the love and care he deserved, eventually shaping him into the man he is now.

Mummy Mahomes’s post on Twitter includes a cute collage of photos of Patrick Mahomes and Brady, a quick comparison with the Bucs’ QB when the Chiefs’ star was in high school. We see a stark contrast in their age only when one revisits photos like these. Is Tom Brady, as they say, truly immortal?

Chiefs fans wasted no time in showering their love on the Super Bowl winner. And for Randi Mahomes herself!

Of course, the jokes weren’t far away, even with this one.

Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City Chiefs decimate Tampa Bay’s defense

The Chiefs, led by Mahomes, displayed an array of mesmerizing and aggressive plays as they ran circles around the Bucs’ defense, eventually beating them 41-31. Fake snappers and alley-oop throws were only part of the package as the Chiefs set themselves as a Super Bowl contention team. 

Mahomes was on fire, with 23/37 for 249 yards and 3 touchdowns, as he helped the Chiefs score 28 points in the first half alone. 1 more than what the Bucs had allowed in their last 3 games combined. Truly, it was a nightmare for the Buccaneers.

The Chiefs came into this game with the defeat against Indianapolis Colts fresh in their minds. A game now remembered for the argument between Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offensive coordinator, Eric Bieniemy. The Chiefs settled for offensive conservatism that day. But the results really would have poked at the back of their minds as they prepared to face Brady’s bunch.

The Buccaneers needed to pull back a win to maintain some resemblance to becoming a championship contender team. But their defense crumbled around what was an unarguably superb offensive play by the Chiefs. As they prepare to face a very fiercely fighting Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, it will be interesting to see what sort of changes the Bucs will do to make up for the poor showing against the Chiefs.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs will look to extend their 3-1 opener against a Las Vegas Raiders team that is fresh out of a winning game. But the Raiders’ defense is not all that impressive, and may not be able to stop the hellfire Mahomes and the Chiefs might decide to unleash. Either way, two exciting matchups await the NFL community in Week 5.
