26 days after Aaron Rodgers shook the NFL world, announcing his intention to join the New York Jets for the next season, there has been no considerable progress in the deal moving through. The Jets and A-Rod’s Packers continue their negotiations for the veteran quarterback. And one NFL analyst thinks that if things get drawn out any further, there might be another Marshawn Lynch interview situation at hand.

The Seattle Seahawks running back set the internet ablaze with his infamous interview answer during the 2015 Super Bowl media day appearances. And Rich Eisen assumes that Aaron Rodgers may have to go down a very similar path if the two organizations don’t speed things up.

As the NFL inches forward towards April 28’s draft day and the second-day trade deadline of the draft, what looked like an almost-done deal has turned out to be a typical drawn-out Aaron Rodgers affair. The Green Bay Packers are still negotiating the ideal compensation package for their 39-year-old signal-caller. Rich Eisen thinks that the veteran QB may have to attend the Green Bay OTAs and preseason, albeit not wanting to be there. Very similar to how Marshawn Lynch paid off his media commitments. All to avoid unnecessary fines.

“I hope he’s not a Jet until late May,” Eisen said on his show on Tuesday. “Cause that means Rodgers might show up to an organized team activity. I need to know when the mandatory team activities are for the Green Bay Packers because Rodgers would be mandated to show up there. How great would it be if he shows up there and says ‘I’m here so I won’t get fined. That would be incredible. Just pulls a full-on Marshawn Lynch, should show up in Marshawn Lynch’s jersey,” he added.
