The Buccaneers have had some setbacks under Tom Brady’s leadership but are still pursuing the ultimate victory. They wish to keep the top spot in the NFC South and would face the 49ers in Week 14. However, his hatred for his childhood team may motivate him to pick a sweep. TB12 made it clear in the Thursday media scrum.

Tom Brady mentioned, “We’d sit up there in the nosebleeds. We had four tickets — my mom and dad would go, I would usually go, and then one of my sisters would go. I was lucky to grow up in the Bay Area at that time. It was just a great time. There were so many great players, it was a great era of football and I loved the 49ers. I loved them through college, and then when they skipped over me six times [in the draft] I started hating the 49ers, and that’s just the way it went down.”

It is a powerful revelation, given that Tom Brady grew up as a 49ers fan and idolized franchise legend Joe Montana. Moreover, Brady hasn’t absolved or neglected their choice to miss out on him.

TB12 will play against the team he grew up admiring for the second time on Sunday. But his words may imply that he intends to make them pay.

The 49ers will face a test when Tom Brady and the Buccaneers visit in Week 14. But they do not have Trey Lance or Jimmy Garoppolo to control the fort. Brady’s childhood favorite team would be led by a rookie quarterback who would make his first career start against the GOAT.

According to NBC Sports, Brock Purdy will make his debut against Tom Brady. The 49ers selected him last during the 2022 NFL Draft, and he would try to achieve something no rookie has ever met. He filled in for an injured Jimmy Garoppolo against the Dolphins and had a fine game.
