The Mahomes are always making the headlines. Patrick Mahomes for his achievement as the ‘NFL most valuable player’ while his father, Patrick Mahomes Sr. for his absence. Meanwhile, the whole Mahomes family celebrated the Chief’s clash against the Jets, but Mahomes Sr. is still absent from the festivities.

The Kansas City Chiefs are bucking up to clash against the New York Jets on Sunday Night. The fans as well as families of the team are highly anticipating the game which is taking place at the MetLife Stadium. But, as the families are cheering the players up ahead of their clash, the father of Chief’s QB is nowhere to be seen. But why exactly does he play a central role in his life?

Patrick Mahomes Sr. was the QB’s coach

The Mahomes father and son duo share a good bond. Patrick Mahomes Sr., a former MLB player, opened up about the times when he used to teach Mahomes baseball. He also opened up about his aspirations of Mahomes, becoming an MLB player when he grows up. “He was always the best player on his baseball team, was an unbelievable shortstop, and he threw 97mph on the mound, so I always thought he was gonna be a baseball player,” he said. However, even after sharing such fond memories, Mahomes Sr. is not participating in his son’s teams’ celebrations.

His absence is not because of his separation from his wife aka Mahomes’ mother Randi. Although Randi and Mahomes Sr. separated in 2006, they still continue to stay good friends and he continues to be a good father to both of his sons, elder son Patrick Mahomes and younger son Jackson Mahomes. He meets them only occasionally.

So why exactly is he off the radar when it comes to the NFL star’s life?

What is the secret behind Patrick Mahomes Sr. disappearing?

There have been several instances where Mahomes Sr. was not seen enjoying with his family. Once when the whole Mahomes family went on a trip to Hawaii, including supermom Randi and Brittany Mahomes, the 53-year-old did not attend the trip. Thus, it is evident that Mahomes Sr. keeps his distance from his ex-wife, but is present whenever he can to support his sons.

Mahomes Sr. generally disappears from his social media, leaving his fans hanging. The former MLB player last posted in July earlier this year after 4 months. The post was a former basketball Player Chandler Parsons, who was donating to the Mahomes Charity Foundation. Along with this, Mahomes Sr. is seen with his son Jackson Mahomes in his golf practice sessions and with Patrick Mahomes and his teammates chugging some beer.
