Afflicted with intense back discomfort, Cox was unable to join the practice on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Interesting to note that Cooper Kupp of the LA Rams officially joined practice on the same day after his hamstring recovery. Emphasizing the contrary, while Kupp will potentially be playing in the Week 5 match against the Eagles, Cox will not be able to fight back.

According to the reports, Cox’s injury is so severe that he requires medical involvement. As he did earlier- to relieve himself of the crippling pain, Cox received an epidural injection. During his absence on the game field, Jalen Carter can possibly have a role next to the defensive line. However, the lack of a key defense player like Cox on the field can potentially have a negative impact on the Eagles’ performance against the Rams. Especially since the opponent now has Kupp with them.

For the Eagles, Fletcher Cox’s health stands as the first priority. Therefore, missing one match of the season to take care of himself holds a lot of significance as he will be back in a better condition, as well as stronger and healthier. Now that generates an important question.

When will Cox return to the field?

Fletcher Cox has been an exceptional defense player all these years with the Eagles. He has always been motivated and dedicated the entire 12 years of his career to the team. Therefore, it just makes sense that he is one of the most important players on their roster.

The mutual care and compassion among the players also make everyone look out for an amazing individual like Cox. Observing his health closely, the Philadelphia Eagles are extremely hopeful that their favorite defense player will be back to play by Week 6 to battle the New York Jets.
