Brody Malone is a force to be reckoned with. The 25-year-old has achieved numerous accolades in the world of gymnastics, and it’s just the beginning of more achievements. He is a World Champion on the high bar (2022) and a bronze medalist on the high bar at the 2021 World Championships. Brody also gained a bronze medal as part of the U.S. men’s gymnastics team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Additionally, Malone has won multiple NCAA titles with Stanford, including team, all-around, floor exercise, and high bar titles.

Who is Brody Malone’s father?

Brody Malone had fans cheering for him as he helped the men’s gymnastics team secure a bronze medal in 2024. The Georgia native had the support of his father and his fiancée, Serena Ortiz, in the stands – and a special seat saved for his late mother, Tracey.

John Malone is Brody Malone’s father, and he competed in rodeo during his time at Georgia Southern University. Brody Malone was born to John and Tracy Malone in Tennessee in 2000. Brody comes from a very sports-centric family. His father was also trained in leather craftsmanship, making detailed saddles, breast collars, and bridles. Tracy Malone was also an accomplished hunter and jumper in events and was the editor and owner of “The Roping Pen.”

Unfortunately, his mother passed away in 2012 due to cancer, and he was only 12 years old back then. Since then, John has been a single father raising Brody and his three younger siblings.

Almost 7 years after Tracey’s passing, he remarried, but unfortunately, his second wife passed away in 2019. John recalled their family’s devastating loss in an open letter to his son ahead of the 2024 Olympics. “Like me, Brody doesn’t like to show his emotions too much. So, I think he buried himself in competition and let all of his pain out through sports.”

John explained in the video posted by NBC’s X account. “Competing at the Olympics was a dream Brody and his mom had together. I know Tracey’s watching over Brody still, and I can see her smile and hear her laugh, and feel her joy. So, son, go get ’em tonight. Your mom and I are so proud of you.”

Who is Brody Malone’s mother?

Tracy Malone was Brody’s mother, and he got the athletic streak from her as well. John and Tracey met in college and fell in love while enrolled in the same equestrian program. In addition to their eldest child, Brody, John, and Tracey also had sons Cooper and Tyler and daughter Briley.

She was diagnosed with cancer and tragically passed away in 2012. He has often spoken publicly about how her support and spirit guided him into gymnastics from a young age. He never really discusses the diagnosis, but from some posts on his Instagram with pink ribbons on them, Tracey likely passed away from breast cancer.

“It helped me realize no matter what happens in your life, you can always move on from it,” Brody shared with the Associated Press in 2021 before the Tokyo Olympics. “Not in a way that you forget the past, but that you can always move on and do better. Life goes on whether you like it or not.”

What is Brody Malone’s parents’ nationality?

Both John and Tracy Malone are American nationals. Brody was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, and his parents are native-born Americans. He represents America in international competitions and has achieved a bronze medal with the winning team at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
