The Professional Fighters League (PFL) continues to bolster their talented roster of fighters with the recent signing of Saudi Arabian star Abdullah “The Ripper” Al-Qahtani. The 24-year old Al-Qahtani comes to the PFL with an impressive 5-1 record, and will certainly be an exciting addition to the league’s already-talented featherweight division.

“The Professional Fighters League is pleased to announce the signing of Abdullah Al-Qahtani,” added Ray Sefo, the PFL’s President of Fighter Operations. “The PFL prides itself on developing the best fighter in the sport and delivering the best in MMA.”

Al-Qahtani began his professional MMA career back in 2018, competing for the Phoenix FC promotion. He would win his MMA debut by decision, and would later on sign with Bahrain-based Brave Combat Federation, the Middle East’s biggest regional MMA outfit.

Under Brave CF, Al-Qahtani won his first four outings, including a third-round knockout against Nejc Preloznik. The PFL also announced that Al-Qahtani will continue to compete in Brave CF.
Widely considered one of Saudi Arabia’s most talented prospects, Al-Qahtani becomes just the latest Middle Eastern talent to head over to the PFL.

The PFL had been keen to sign middle eastern fighters prior to Abdullah Al Qahtani as well
Last year, the PFL brought in Jordan’s Jarrah “The Jordanian Lion” Al-Silawi, a two-division champion in the regional circuit, and paved the way for fellow Middle Eastern fighters to track a path to the PFL’s global stage.
Al-Silawi impressed in the 2022 PFL Challenger Series to earn a spot in the 2022 PFL Regular Season and defeated UFC veteran Gleison Tibau to prove that he can be a legitimate contender in the league’s welterweight division.

Thanks to Al-Silawi’s impressive maiden run in the PFL, the league has beefed up their Middle Eastern roster of fighters by signing more talents from the region, including two-division champion Mohammed “The Latest” Fakhreddine, undefeated bantamweight Ali Taleb, former light heavyweight champion Tarek Suleiman, heavyweight knockout artist Hatef “Boss” Moeil, Mostafa Rashed Neda, who’s set to make his debut on the 2023 PFL Challenger Series, and Mahmoud Sebie.
Al-Qahtani is expected to make his PFL debut in 2023.
