The debate of who is currently the best soccer player has largely divided opinions. But according to a recent stat, the odds could be in favor of PSG and France star Kylian Mbappe. The France forward scored a hat-trick in the World Cup final but saw his team lose against Leo Messi‘s Argentina on penalties. However, in the debate between Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mbappe, and other names such as Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski, Harry Kane, and Mo Salah, the Frenchman ranks the highest as per a pivotal statistic.

Mbappe was touted for a move to Real Madrid all summer but stayed with PSG despite all the rumors doing the rounds. This was despite Real having sufficient funds to sign Mbappe and another player as per comments by La Liga chief Javier Tebas, after the release of the spending caps for Spanish clubs. Nevertheless, Mbappe has been the most prolific player in the world as per stats for goals and assists over the past five years.
