It has been a few weeks since Lionel Messi came to the United States. The Argentinian superstar may have settled quickly into the soccer dynamics of Inter Miami. However, he had yet to nestle himself and his clan in the new city. Until now—just hours ago, he finally bought a place for a whopping $11 million. Such a hefty figure suggests he may have emptied his bank. However, the skipper can easily fill the gap in just 45 days.

This hypothesis was presented by Lucia Aguilar, a Spanish-based entrepreneur and influencer. Interestingly, she was explaining to her Instagram followers how many months one would need to work to buy a home. Subsequently, she took Messi’s recent $11 million splurge as an example, revealing that La Pulga would have worked just a month and a half to get his first house in America.

She said, “Messi’s income is 75 million dollars a year. That is his salary at Inter Miami; That is, he works for a month and a half and buys a little house”, as translated by DeepL. Indeed, it’s quite remarkable to see that it wouldn’t take La Pulga much time to replenish the millions he spent. Credit for this feat goes to his Inter Miami contract, which, notably, also positions him as America’s highest-paid athlete.

As reported by Joe Pompliano, the property is conveniently located just 15 minutes from Inter Miami’s stadium. He would be accompanied by some celebrity neighbors who need no introduction. Hollywood icon Tom Cruise, golf legend Tiger Woods, and former Chicago Bulls and NBA star Scottie Pippen are his fellow residents.
