The team’s boss was talking to the press ahead of the game. He touched on several aspects, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup saga. Scaloni wasn’t impressed with the coverage that Rubiales is getting instead of Spain’s maiden World Cup trophy.

He said, “It’s a pity for Spain women’s team that Rubiales case is talked about more instead of the enormous achievement the women’s team had, something historic. I congratulate you for the title you achieved in a fair way, it is a pity that this is not talked about enough.”
