Erling Haaland is presently one of the biggest soccer talents. The Norwegian superstar continues to top goal-scoring charts. Although it’s Manchester City that is currently enjoying his services, he is still a priority signing for other elite clubs. In fact, in a surprise revelation from a Premier League winner, he could have been a part of the other side of Manchester but the Red Devils refrained from ‘going out on their limbs’ to sign Haaland.

Meanwhile, the downfall continues for Erik Ten Hag and Co, as last night they suffered a shock, narrow defeat against Newcastle United.

Club legend, Dwight Yorke, discussed Erling Haaland’s possible move to Manchester United instead of the Cityzens. While speaking to beIN SPORTS, he said, “I think we missed a bolt with Haaland as well. I think there was an opportunity to have gotten him, from what I know.”

The Red Devils could have surely paid over the odds for a generational talent like the 23-year-old. Additionally, when asked how close Manchester United was to signing Haaland, Yorke said, “I would say 75%…I can’t get into too many details”.

“But we could have gotten Haaland I reckon, and we had people in certain positions at the time to sort of make that decision. I just think they didn’t go out on their limbs to get him. I just think they didn’t want to pay over the odds for him.”

Certainly, it is quite a huge claim from the soccer icon. Notably, as of today, he is being linked heavily with apex clubs like Real Madrid. Speaking of which, his agent recently gave a huge update on it. Let’s dive deeper.

One take at a time

I first kicked a soccer ball when I was 12. My early exposure to playing the sport earned me many accolades at the zonal and district levels. I still remember my first goal, where I scored a 90+5 minute header like Sergio Ramos did in the 2014 Champions League final against Atletico Madrid.
