It was quite a special MLS game today for Inter Miami for two reasons. Firstly, Inter Miami started off their MLS journey against LAFC back in 2o20. Secondly, several ever-famous celebrities turned up for today’s game. Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio was one of the big names present for the game too! He had sported a black tee with a pair of sunglasses. The cameras shot him munching on an ice pop in the stands.

NBA stars like LeBron James and James Harden were present for the game too. Famous Tottenham supporter Tom Holland turned up. On the back of attending a few Wrexham games with Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Will Ferrell made a surprise appearance. Jason Sudeikis, the actor who played Ted Lasso also witnessed the Messi masterclass. These were just a few names from the long celebrity list.

This isn’t the first time that DiCaprio and the word soccer were in the same sentence. More than a decade ago, Hollywood co-star Stephen Graham attempted to convert him into a soccer fan. However, that plan didn’t seem to work out. Back in 2009, Graham revealed that DiCaprio once watched a soccer game with him but he wasn’t too impressed.

After watching the first half, he exclaimed, “It’s halfway through the match and there’s still no score?”, as compiled by Express. But that happened quite a while ago. Interestingly, he didn’t seem bored while watching Lionel Messi today.

This isn’t the first time the Argentine soccer legend showcased his soccer acumen in front of a group of celebrities. On this Inter Miami debut, massive names like Serena Williams and Kim Kardashian had turned up for the game. This victory against LAFC has taken the Herons’ unbeaten streak to eleven games since the Argentine soccer legend’s arrival. Below is a brief review of today’s game against Los Angeles FC.

After a disappointing draw against Nashville last week, David Beckham‘s side played much better today. Lionel Messi took up more of a deeper and assisting role today. For most of the game, he was looking to play timely and pinpointed passes to the runners. 21-year-old Facundo Farias scored his first goal for the club and opened his team’s account on the scoresheet against LAFC.

A few minutes after the second half resumed, Jordi Alba doubled Inter Miami’s lead. Half an hour later, Leonardo Campana sealed the victory by scoring the third goal. LAFC hit back with their opening goal but it seemed to be too late to cause any problems. Although Messi didn’t manage to find the back of the net, he had a total of two assists. All in all, it was a good performance by the Herons from an attacking and defensive standpoint.
