“Bouncing Back No Matter What” – Novak Djokovic’s Wife on His Recent Success After US Open Disqualification

Novak Djokovic once again displayed tremendous grit to emerge victorious, and this time, a 7-5, 6-3 win has earned him his fifth Italian Open crown. Novak defeated Diego Schwartzman in straight sets, but it was his wife Jelena Djokovic who won all the hearts!

Every man needs a strong woman in his life, and Djokovic has Jelena to catch him if he falls. After the infamous US Open saga, there were a lot of comments about the Djoker’s temper and him saying that he can’t guarantee it not happening again.

However, all that is in the past, and Djokovic is now a champion in Rome after five long years. A journalist from the NY Times reported the news and brought up the elements of his disqualification at the US Open.

He mentioned that Novak’s only loss was “to himself” implying that he is yet to lose a proper match this year. Jelena found this funny, and Novak’s beloved wife delivered a fitting response to everyone who pounced on the Serbian after his unfortunate exit from flushing meadows.

“Lol, that’s why he stopped bouncing the ball so much. So he can keep bouncing back no matter what,” Jelena wrote to pacify her spouse’s critics. After getting defaulted from the US Open, a lot of claims arose about Novak’s ability to come back stronger.

Here he is, winning in the Italian Open and getting ready for Roland Garros is perfect fashion. “It was a great week. A very challenging week. I don’t think I played my best tennis throughout the entire week, but I think I found my best tennis when I needed it the most in the decisive moments today, yesterday [and in] practically every match,” Djokovic said after his victory.

By winning his fifth Italian Open crown, Novak Djokovic has etched his name in history. He has now overtaken Rafael Nadal to become the player with the most Masters 1000 titles in history!

Novak Djokovic now has 36 titles, with the most number of triumphs coming at the Miami Open. He has six at Miami, and five at Indian Wells, Paris, and Rome. This certainly speaks volumes of how dominant the Serbian has been in the past decade.

Rafa is the clear favorite at Roland Garros which starts in less than a week. But if there’s one thing that we’ve learned from Novak, it is to never count him out at any cost. The Serb is on a tremendous run this year, breaking one record after the other. Can he conquer in Paris this year?
