After Francis Ngannou walked out of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the world erupted with rumors of the former UFC heavyweight champion dodging Jon Jones. Without a doubt, Ngannou faced severe backlash from the world of mixed martial arts. However, the Cameroonian warrior had different plans in motion. He became a free agent after vacating his UFC title and declared that he planned to enter the squared ring against Tyson Fury.

However, things didn’t turn out the way Ngannou planned and his fight against Fury seemed further away than ever. Recently, in ‘The MMA Hour’ with Ariel Helwani, ‘The Predator’ declared that he had another possible opponent in sight. Doubtlessly, the famed MMA reporter couldn’t control his excitement. Furthermore, as the video footage got into social media, the fans’ opinions were split in half. While many fans believed it was a good move, many others stood against the notion.

Fans opine on Francis Ngannou’s opponent for his boxing debut

In a recent conversation on The MMA Hour with Helwani, ‘The Predator’ revealed that there was one boxer who might be his next opponent. It was none other than Deontay Wilder. Ngannou confirmed, “At this moment, he is the… we are closer []to fighting Deontay Wilder] than with anyone else.” Furthermore, he revealed that the fight might take place in the coming summer. 

However, when asked about how he saw the fight faring, he had a quirky reply in store. The former UFC champion said, “I think somebody will take somebody’s head off. I would just try for it not to be mine. I think that’s probably what’s gonna happen.” As the video found its way to Instagram, the fans took to the comments and shared their thoughts. Undeniably, many people thought the fight would be an interesting one. Howbeit, many others felt it Ngannou made a bad decision.
