Boxing legend, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson, will be coming out of retirement to take on the influencer-turned-boxer, Jake Paul on July 20th. There are quite a lot of fight fans who seem to be frowning on the matchup given that Mike Tyson is now 57 years old and taking on Jake Paul, who is reaching his prime at 27 years. Despite fans not liking the matchup, the fight looks en route to garnering quite a lot of views.
Having retired nearly two decades ago, Mike Tyson has maintained his status as one of the biggest names boxing has to offer. However, this isn’t the only reason why an ex-UFC fighter believes that the fight between the retired boxing legend and the influencer/boxer will be the highest-viewed fight of all time.

Brendan Schaub on a recent episode of “The Schaub Show” made a statement that might sound farfetched to many. ‘Thicc Boy’ said, “Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson will be the most watched fight ever.” The podcast host clarified that it would not be fair to compare PPV sales against the viewership Netflix brought. Still, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor reportedly had an estimated 50 million people watching just in the US alone. However, if we consider that the Tyson-Paul fight will not be a PPV event, but will be streamed on Netflix, the possibility of how wide of an audience the fight can reach is still uncertain.

Schaub during his podcast went on to state that the fight could exceed the likes of Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather in terms of viewership. He stated, “What was the biggest UFC fight ever? Yeah, 2.4 million? they’re gonna beat that. And that’s pay-per-view. Boy, that’s big!… And then Manny Pacquiao and Floyd were 4 million?.. Mayweather-McGregor? 4.3 million.”
The former UFC heavyweight then explained that because the streaming platform has around 260 million users worldwide, he expects at least 10 million people to tune in for the fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson. Unfortunately, though 10 million people tuning in to watch the fight would be an amazing feat, it still does not compare to how many people tuned in to watch the fight between Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao (2015) or Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor (2017).
But the possibility of Schaub’s words coming true remains relevant thanks to Netflix. Meanwhile, a lot of people are dismissing the battle-tested boxer, but UFC commentator Joe Rogan seems to believe otherwise.

Joe Rogan believes that the Boxing Legend would have an edge over Paul despite age difference
Joe Rogan during a JRE podcast episode with wrestling legend, Ric Flair explained how Mike Tyson would still have the number of “The Problem Child” despite his age. With 58 professional bouts and 44 knock-out wins, the JRE podcast host seems to believe that Tyson still has an edge over the influencer-turned-boxer.
Rogan also seems to believe that age doesn’t play a factor in the fight as he stated, “No. Why? I don’t give a sh** if he’s 55. That’s still Mike. Mike’s in good shape too, he, like trains every day. He trains with Rafael Cordeiro, who’s a legend in MMA. He runs King’s Mixed Martial Arts and Rafael is a world-renowned trainer. When you see him holding the mitts for Tyson and Tyson’s smashing the mitts, like Jesus, that guy can still f**k you up.”
