UFC star Conor McGregor might arguably be one of the most prolific fighters in the promotion. However, the Irishman’s exploits inside the Octagon have become sporadic in recent times. The situation becomes more worrisome for the fans if they assess the extended data. On the other hand, legendary boxer Mike Tyson hands down humbles the former UFC champion.

Notably, welterweight fighter Jorge Masvidal on his popular Facebook handle shared the career stats of both fighters.

Remarkably, the stats revealed the ‘Notorious’ had fought only 14 fights while his UFC career stretched over 8 years. ‘Iron Mike’, by comparison, graced the boxing ring 15 times in one calendar year, 1985.

Mike Tyson’s eventful 1985 year

‘Kid Dynamite’ made his debut as an 18-year-old on March 6, 1985. Evidently, the explosive fighter had a knack for fighting as he finished the year with 15 fights and 15 knockout victories.

As expected, the media picked up on the young fighter’s undefeated streak, and hence his journey to ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ started. Rightly billed as the next heavyweight champion, Tyson claimed the WBC title the next year itself, i.e., 1986 after defeating Trevor Berbick in a TKO victory.

McGregor’s UFC record

Conor McGregor started his UFC career on April 6, 2013, with a TKO via punches win over Marcus Brimage. Afterward, the fighter built a reputation for earning KOs with similarly quick and combination punches.

The 34-year-old fighter then went undefeated in UFC for further 6 fights and claimed the featherweight title during the same splendid run. However, Nate Diaz halted his undefeated juggernaut in UFC at 196.
