In the MMA community, Conor McGregor’s love for whiskey is no secret. The Irishman loves his beverage so much that he founded the Whiskey brand ‘Proper Twelve’, a venture that seems to be too personal for McGregor. But it looks like the Whiskey brand has a new fan, and it’s none other than submission grappling GOAT, Gordon Ryan.

Recently, the grappling master added another entry to his long list of victories after he beat long-time rival Patrick Gaudio in the main event of the recently concluded WNO 20 event. In his typical fashion, Ryan dominated his rival and finished Gaudio with an armbar. And to celebrate this feat, ‘The King’ pulled out a bottle of Proper Twelve. Something that seems to have garnered McGregor’s attention.

In one of his recent Instagram stories, Conor McGregor congratulated grappling legend Gordon Ryan. The former UFC two-division champion shared a picture of Ryan holding the Proper Twelve along with the caption, “Congrats on the win”. The picture of Ryan is from his WNO 20 post-fight interview, where the fighter can be seen pulling out the Proper Twelve bottle from a mystery box.

For those unaware, the grappler had been teasing this mystery box ever since the pre-fight press conference of the recently concluded event. ‘The King’ is known for predicting the submission that he will utilize to finish his opponent, and the fighter did just that here. This time, the Proper Twelve bottle was a reference to the armbar, the submission that sealed the deal for Ryan.

Just like Ryan, McGregor too is known for predicting his fights just how they go. The most famous of these predictions came before his title bout against Jose Aldo. So when Ryan ‘predicted these things’ along with a Proper Twelve bottle, it seems like a poetic instance that McGregor congratulated the alleged GOAT of No-Gi grappling.
