Former UFC dual champion Conor McGregor is no stranger to having his say on Twitter. Over the last 16 months, fans & fighters have known about ‘The Notorious’ shocking injury. However, many, the latest being Anthony ‘Lionheart’ Smith, have mocked him and hinted at the speedy recovery not being clean. The Irishman, though, revealed that his road to recovery was mapped out and sent his thoughts to his middleweight colleagues, who had experienced what he went through.
Conor McGregor hit back at ‘Lionheart’ in a series of tweets. After building on Will Smith’s Oscars line and telling Anthony Smith to keep his name out of his mouth, ‘The Notorious’ tweeted, “Everything was fully disclosed before I began. The state of allowance for athletes to recover from injuries as horrific as the one I overcame must be assessed. My thoughts are with weidman and Anderson Silva. The 3 of us, and only us, know the severity of this injury.”

A leg snap is a unique injury in the UFC and only a handful of fighters have suffered from it. While Conor McGregor named two of them, he omitted Anthony Smith from this particular tweet. It may have been a dig at the former light heavyweight title challenger, who also suffered a similar setback. Smith’s leg broke during the UFC 277 main card opener.
While Anderson Silva returned after 13 months, Weidman hasn’t entered the cage after UFC 261. Meanwhile, Conor McGregor has yet to re-enter the octagon and doesn’t have a fight in sight. This is partly due to the #14 ranked lightweight’s withdrawal from the USADA pool, where he must be for six months before he can be eligible to compete. However, per TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter, there is a loophole that may allow ‘The Notorious’ to return earlier.
Although McGregor hasn’t been able to entertain fans from within the octagon, he hasn’t deprived them of treats as he continues to land verbal barbs on Twitter.
Conor McGregor dismissed Anthony Smith’s broken leg injury
The Irish fighter branded Anthony Smith a loser and called himself “the most tested fighter all time in combat sport.”
The audacity of this loser! @lionheartasmith you’re a loser. The % of the bones joining back after a break like this is so low. You think I give a fuck about anything else. I am the most tested fighter all time in combat sport. I give everything to this game.
You – Nothing!— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) November 26, 2022
Fans cannot dispute this claim, as Conor McGregor has never had a positive test over the course of his nine-year-long UFC career.

‘The Notorious’ tweeted, “Hahahaah walk it off you little tick. Broken leg my bollox. Embarrassing!”
