Shin or no shin, Conor McGregor wants to fight Nate Diaz. The two have had a rivalry that could replicate McGregor and Khabib if it went on for a little longer. And it looks like it just might. Both the fighters have been speaking of a trilogy for a while now.

In a recent post on X, McGregor recounted his fight against Diaz at UFC 202. The fight went on for a solid five rounds, with Diaz bleeding all over the place but still going at it. ‘The Notorious’ ended up with a decision win and took home the pride that he was looking for. Now, Diaz wants vengeance.

The fight never dies, even if it’s not inside the Octagon. For Nate Diaz, losing against McGregor was where he drew the line. The fighter claimed that he should have never given him a fight in the first place. But now that he has, it’s about time the two clash again for a final time. The finale of the McGregor-Diaz trilogy.

Diaz put Conor out of commission with a rear-naked choke in their first fight. Out for blood, McGregor outperformed his opponent the next time they met in a rematch. The two were still raring to go after the fifth round, but that’s just not how it works. In a response to McGregor’s tweet, Diaz said,

This is when McGregor came back to his post so that he could let out a warning sign. “You’ll get your rematch, lad,” he tweeted. Both the fighters have previously talked about how a third fight may just be on the cards at a future event. Fans as usual, are beyond excited for this to happen, but the confirmation is just not there yet.

When the Valentina Shevchenko vs. Alexa Grasso 10-8 score controversy happened, the MMA world went into a little spiral. Many people had opinions on whether the score was deserved. On 20 September, McGregor reminded the world of his 10-8 score against Diaz by tweeting:

“Was round 1 where I dropped Nate once, and round 2 where I dropped Nate twice, scored 10-8s? They shoulda been, it was a cake walk on points.”

The cakewalk is what brought Diaz to the comments section. Now, the two fighters are at it again, putting up tweets and threats before they can wear gloves. Some fans think that Nate Diaz is all set to claim his revenge over ‘The Notorious’ because he has the ‘broken shin’ advantage. Others, well, others have their faith in the Irishman intact.  For those in the dark, McGregor broke his leg at UFC 264 in a fight against Dustin Poirier, but he claimed that he had already got “multiple stress fractures” to his shin bone even before he entered the Octagon.
