Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz at UFC 300? Irishman’s Braggy Statement on Rival Attracts Rematch Demands

‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor is by far the best in MMA at selling fights. McGregor holds 8 of the top positions in the list of the highest-selling PPVs in the UFC. And his fights against the Stockton native, Nate Diaz, were probably one of the best rivalries in the UFC. Both fighters hold one win each against the other. So what are the odds of a trilogy fight between the two, and will it happen at UFC 300?
Though a rubber match was quite in high demand after the second fight between McGregor and Diaz, the fight never took form. Diaz has since exited from the UFC and McGregor has been sidelined after suffering an injury during the trilogy fight between him and Dustin Poirier. However, a recent post from McGregor on his X (formerly known as Twitter) had fans profusely waiting for a big announcement for UFC 300.

The former double champion reposted a clip of the rematch between him and Nate Diaz, which was voted by fans as the greatest UFC fight of all time. Reposting one of the greatest rivalry fights, with the caption, “The Greatest UFC Fight of All Time. Among a few accolades held” the peak hype of UFC 300 fight speculations has led many to anticipate a trilogy of the fight.
From a fan perspective, despite Nate Diaz parting ways with the UFC, a return fight against Conor McGregor for their trilogy fight would certainly blow the roof off the arena. Especially with the hype and following both fighters carry, it would make fans tune in for the fight, and could be a fitting addition to UFC 300.

Conor McGregor’s manager talks about possible Nate Diaz matchup
In an interview, Conor McGregor’s coach, Audie Attar, when asked by a journalist about a fight against Nate Diaz for the trilogy, stated, “Conor Definitely wants that trilogy to happen with Nate Diaz, and it’s going to happen.”
Given that there is a possibility for a rematch against the original BMF, Nate Diaz, we can’t deny the chance for a fight to take place at UFC 300 between the two. Given the legendary build-up to the earlier two fights, we can most certainly expect the same for the third if it takes place.
