With the main event for UFC Fight Night Vegas 70 canceled, the new main event saw Andre Muniz take on Brendan Allen. The fight in the UFC’s middleweight division saw two promising prospects take each other on to climb up the rankings. Muniz was ranked 11th in the division before the fight and was looking to break into the top 10 of the middleweight rankings.

Whereas, Brendan “All In” Allen was there to stop ‘Sergipano’. Both fighters fought their hearts out and entertained the fans who were disappointed by the fight cancelation and a lackluster prior fight.

Official Result: Brendan Allen Wins via Submission (RNC), Round 3 (4:25).

Brendan Allen came into the fight with a three-fight win streak. The Brazilian, on the other hand, had a 9-fight win streak. Muniz had a 3-inch reach advantage, as he was the favorite to win the fight. However, that was not the case, as Allen utilized his game plan and did not give his counterpart any chance in the bout.

Round one started with both fighters not looking for an early takedown. Allen looked confident, standing up at the start of the round. Muniz also failed to takedown Allen in the middle of the round. Both fighters had their moments in a close, hard fought round.

The second round started just like the first round, as both fighters showcased their striking prowess. The first takedown happened in the middle of the round by the Brazilian. However, Allen reversed the grappling exchange and ended up on top for the rest of the round.

The third and final round started with both fighters looking conservative in their takedown approach at the start of the round. However, Allen took the Brazilian down in the round and got into an excellent position on the ground. Furthermore, Allen secured a win with 30 seconds left with a Rare Naked Choke.
