It is not wrong to say that Francis Ngannou took the UFC heavyweight division by storm when he first entered the promotion. He rose to fame after knocking out Alistair Overeem with a vicious uppercut in 2017. He has since established himself as one of the most dangerous fighters in the sport.
Ngannou‘s achievements in the UFC are impressive. He has a record of 17-3, with 12 of those victories coming by way of knockout. He is a former UFC heavyweight champion, having won the title by defeating Stipe Miocic in 2021. His title reign was brief but dominant, as no fighter came close to defeating Ngannou while he had the belt around his waist. The former UFC heavyweight champion left the promotion after failing to agree to new terms this year and notable MMA personality Joe Rogan expressed his support for the African star.
