Jorge Masvidal currently holds the record for the fastest knockout in UFC History at 5 seconds. The welterweight contender was dismissed by fans due to his poor record in recent games. ‘Gamebred’ has failed to earn a victory since 2019, when he beat Nate Diaz on a technical knockout. However, UFC Veteran Michael Bisping asked the fans to cut him some slack.

Jorge Masvidal gets high praise from Michael Bisping

Michael Bisping shared how dismissive The UFC World is, in the case of fighters like Jorge Masvidal. On his YouTube channel, Bisping shared why Masvidal deserved to be respected, despite his 3-game losing streak. “He’ll fight everybody, He will. He tried fighting me. He’s a natural fighter”

Bisping listed Masvidal’s achievements in the UFC. “He knocked out Darren Till. He knocked out Ben Askren and scored the quickest knockout ever in UFC history” and remembered what a spectacular showing Masvidal put against formidable opponents like Ben Askren and Darren Till.

The 38-year-old came out on top despite being the underdog against Nate Diaz at UFC 244. These were some of the hardest welterweight tests, which Masvidal aced in the previous decade. But, his luck didn’t carry over as he lost against Kamaru Usman twice.

This loss demotivated Masvidal and led him to lose another match against Colby Covington at UFC 272.

Bisping thinks Gamebred is one of the best fighters

Bisping commented on Masvidal’s losses. “(He lost) two to Kamaru Usman, one to Colby Covington, and for some reason, MMA fans – they are so quick to write people off.” and added, “He only lost to Kamaru and Colby, the two best fighters on the planet in welterweight until Leon Edwards came along.”

It’s not fair to criticize Jorge Masvidal so much, because he lost against some of the best opponents in the division.

Bisping admitted that he had nothing but respect for ‘Gamebred’. Due to his nature as a fighter and his instinct to take on anybody. Bisping added, “He’s not an athlete, he’s not one of the best wrestlers, he’s not one of the best kickboxers – but he’s one of the best fighters.”
