Famed American actress Halle Berry sat down with MMA Junkie to talk about her film ‘Bruised’ which recently hit the screen. The film sees Berry in the capacity of a star and also serves as her directorial debut. The movie saw a theatrical release on November 17, 2021, followed by a Netflix streaming deal that began on November 24.
The movie has received a lot of promotion in the circles of MMA fans as it is a film centered around a failed MMA fighter. Moreover, undisputed flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko also has a role in the films, and fans are invested. In fact, Dana White had Halle Berry up on the podium doing the face-off for Rose Namajunas vs Zhang Weili 2 at UFC 268 to help promote the movie.

“It’s something that once I read it, I just couldn’t let it go. I couldn’t let it go. So right away I started reimagining ‘Oh, how could this work for someone like me’…. I had a big love of MMA when the scrip came to me. I was a huge fan of the sport. I was a boxing fan since I was a little girl, it just ignited me on all levels.”
