The famed combat sports personality, Joe Rogan, has spent over two decades donning the commentator’s role with UFC. During this stint, the color commentator witnessed the high-voltage action up close and lived many iconic moments. Besides, the commentator’s desk also gave him a hawk-eye view of some horrific scenes, like fighters sustaining career-threatening injuries. UFC star Conor McGregor faced one such injury at UFC 264 and Rogan touched upon the same and further identified the reason for his ‘demise’.

The standup comic sat down with Derek in The Joe Rogan Experience’s ep. #1905. Notably, Derek is the face behind the popular YouTube channel, ‘More Plates More Dates’. The duo discussed Liver King’s apology video and the Hollywood stars’ training regime. In addition, they talked about the possibility of the Irishman’s comeback.

Therefore, he told, “Inactivity is probably one of the biggest factors in his demise, maybe even more so than just silk sheets.”

Later on, the UFC analyst added, “He said that after the Dustin Poirier fight when Dustin Poirier knocked him out and he’s like, and just like ‘inactivity is the real problem. I just need to get back in here. And be active’.

Subsequently, UFC personnel explained that a lot transpired inside a fight, and the stress of the moment could be overwhelming if one was not accustomed to fighting on a higher level. As a result, the fighters found it difficult to get back to 100% whenever they made a comeback, after a long layoff.
