The one accusation that can never be made against Conor McGregor is that he is not expressive enough. McGregor will let you know exactly what he thinks on any topic that catches his fancy. And this verbosity and loquaciousness, of course, is a large part of why he is so popular.

But this time, McGregor has come out with an opinion that many will agree with. He came out with a hot take motivated from the UFC 294 bout between Kamaru Usman and Khamzat Chimaev that seems to have a lot of merit, uncharacteristic for the Irishman lately.

Conor McGregor wants this change for all no. 1 title contender fights

Conor McGregor took to Twitter to simply say that a number 1 contender’s fight should be five rounds instead of three. All title bouts and main event fights in UFC events are five rounds. But McGRegor wants more. “No.1 contender fights should be 5 rounds,” the former two-division champion tweeted.

All non-title fights, including title eliminators (unless the main event, that is) are three-round contests. This is true of the UFC 294 co-main event bout between Usman and Chimaev, the winner of which will fight Sean Strickland for the middleweight title next.
