Chimaev said, “For the fight against Diaz it [Chimaev’s pay] was $1,000,000… The PPV percent [too], yeah.” He added, “When everything changed, they still paid $1,000,000. I offered everything to Diaz, all my money to make it happen. Then Ramzan Akhmadovich [Kadyrov] called me and told me that he was ready to even pay Diaz $2,000,000 for the fight. I told Nate that they called and offered more money, but he refused, anyway.”

According to Chimaev, tye 22-13 record holder wasn’t happy about fighting him from the get-go and instead found another option. It’s now anyone’s guess what the Stockton native will do next, but it’s clear that he’s not easily swayed by a hefty sum of cash.
