UFC CEO Dana White Left Awestruck After Visiting World’s Largest Wave Pool in Abu Dhabi- “I Am Telling…”

The Middle East is emerging as a combat sports hub. Saudi Arabia and the city-states of the United Arab Emirates have invested heavily to promote their countries as sports destinations. The UFC and Dana White have been in business with Abu Dhabi for the past decade and have a deal to stage at least five cards in the UAE capital.

White, who loves to live a high life, is in Abu Dhabi at the moment; it is unclear whether for business or for pleasure. The UFC boss shared highlights from his trip on his social media and has also been talking with a disgruntled Conor McGregor while there.

Dana White is in Abu Dhabi, two months after UFC 294, which saw Islam Makhachev knockout Alexander Volkanovski in their much-awaited rematch, along with securing Khamzat Chimaev a title shot following his controversial majority decision victory over Kamaru Usman.

Abu Dhabi has a significant fan base, especially for Muslim and Middle Eastern fighters. Makhachev, for instance, won his lightweight title in the city, while Khamzat Chimaev has reportedly taken up Emirati citizenship.

And the UFC boss is a huge fan of the city, having expressed his love for the city owing to its famed restaurants, excellent shopping, and hospitality. White is out of town, visiting the various attractions. The Las Vegas resident visited the Kelly Slater pool club, which holds the distinction of being the world’s largest wave pool, and shared it on his Instagram Story.

“So I’m here at the Kelly Slater wave pool at Surf Abu Dhabi, the biggest wave pool in the world. I’m telling you guys, Abu Dhabi man…” White spoke of the wave pool. Along with enjoying Abu Dhabi’s attractions, however, the UFC boss is also taking care of business with Conor McGregor.

White speaks to Conor McGregor about his upcoming comeback

Dana White revealed in an Instagram live session two days ago that he had spoken to Conor McGregor and was trying to figure out his next fight. ‘Notorious’ recently expressed frustration over not getting a date and warned that his patience with the promotion was “wearing thin”.

McGregor was originally supposed to fight rival TUF coach Michael in December 2023; however, the bout was postponed for undisclosed reasons, and the UFC has provided no updates. His chat with McGregor may finally compel the promotion to announce a date for the biggest MMA star’s return to the UFC after over two years of inactivity.
