UFC Vegas 66 quickly became viral due to a heroic tale of Rafa Garcia. He won his fight against Hayisaer Maheshate with great vigor. In addition, during the second round of the fight, ‘Gifted’ was hit with a drilling elbow. Not only did this injury give him a deep wound; but also led to a lot of blood loss.
In the UFC post-fight show, he mentioned, “They told me I lost 20 percent of my blood,” He further added, saying, “I got a cut artery. They told me they had never seen that before.”

This was just his sixth fight for the promotion, and with the performance, he had made sure to grab the headlines. Moreover, he was in need of almost 15 stitches after his fight, and the medical team took two hours to stop the bleeding.

Furthermore, after his fight, he made his opinion public. He let his fans know that he wasn’t going to stay down and fight his way toward victory. He said, “PS, The cut they gave me was from an elbow to the side of the head. We are perfectly healthy, The cut severed an artery which caused me to lose 20% of my blood. But that didn’t stop us. you want it then you get it. Above Chicali and the Imperial Valley.”

Gruesome injuries UFC fighters fought through to clinch victory
This isn’t the only instance when a fighter has channeled his inner warrior to clinch victory from the jaws of defeat. Ben Rothwell tore his ACL against Gilbert Yvel in the first take-down attempt.
