The 35-year-old boasted an impressive record when he was an amateur fighter in Brazil. But there was one fighter that proved to be a thorn in Alex Pereira’s side. “I lost 3 fights. 3 Times to the same guy.” He explained how he wanted to beat the guy back then, but later on, understood that he could never do so. “The styles don’t match.”

Despite him being away from the ring, the current middleweight champion admitted that he’ll still not be able to win against him. “If I fight him 10 times, I’LL LOSE. Adesanya needs to get that.”

Similarly, ‘Poatan’ claimed he will always get the best of Israel Adesanya due to their fighting style. Adesanya needed to cope with that fact.
