VIDEO: Over 200 Lbs UFC Star Paulo Costa Gets Lit Up by a Lightweight Fighter

Brazilian middleweight fighter Paulo Costa has appeared in a Twitter video. He was last seen in the UFC cage back in August 2022 at UFC 278. Paulo Costa defeated the former middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold, by an anonymous decision. Costa thus broke his two-fight losing streak where he lost against Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori. The Twitter video shows Costa sparring with a lightweight UFC fighter. The spar session looks friendly and we could see both the fighters smiling. It seemed the fighters had agreed to some special rules for the session, too.

Costa was seen sparring with American fighter Bobby Green. Green is on a losing streak himself. He lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s student Islam Makhachev earlier at UFC Fight Night and then more recently against Drew Dober. The video has garnered a lot of attention from fans with 600k views in only a few hours. Fans have had interesting reactions to the video.

Paulo Costa gets some heat from fans

Fans made sure they let the fighters know how they felt about the video. A fan took the opportunity to remind Costa of his altercation with a nurse in Brazil. He tweeted, “You use those skills to slap waitresses around still?”

The comment drew a reaction from Costa himself, who corrected the fan, saying it wasn’t a waitress but a nurse.

Costa tweeted, “It’s nurses mtfk” 

Fans had a few words of appreciation for Bobby Green, too. A user wrote, “Dang, Bobby has some fast hands”

Another user pulled out the old doping controversy from Costa‘s past. The user commented, “Secret Juice changed my life“

There were a few other users who seemed to have not forgiven Costa yet for his doping chapter. Another fan said, “Lace it with your secret juice and you will be immune to all damage for 10 mins Paulo”

Fans, however, did compliment Paul Costa for his physique. A fan wrote, “Damn Paulo you making Jon Jones look small”

Fans want to know Paulo Costa’s next opponent

Fans also wanted to know who will Costa be fighting in his next UFC appearance. Paulo Costa was supposed to fight #2 in the middleweight division, Robert Whittaker. The fight had been scheduled once in the past too, but didn’t materialize. This time, the fight was scheduled for UFC 284, which will take place on the 12th of February 2023. Although the fight stands canceled as of now.

If the sparring sessions with Bobby Green will help ‘The Eraser’ against his next opponent is unknown. What fans definitely know as of now is that Costa will be in prime form when he gets in the cage.
