UFC bantamweight Ian McCall wasn’t impressed by Phelps, in spite of the swimmer’s stature. McCall believed people gave credit to Phelps even though it wasn’t ”a big deal”. The former bantamweight fighter said, “People give all this credit to what’s his name…Phelps. You’re ****ing swimming, dude, it’s not that big of a big deal.”
The bantamweight fighter couldn’t relate to the fame Phelps received for his accolades in swimming. McCall added, “I think swimming is dumb. I like swimming as a workout—it’s hard—although I don’t see why he gets glorified for that. He’s not like a multi-sport athlete.”
However, like Rousey’s comments, McCall’s comments were met with criticism. However, the former fighter made it a point to respond to his critics.
