In 2017, while Biles was participating in the television reality show ‘Dancing with the Stars, her grandmother, Nellie Biles, hired the WWE star to be a coach at her gym. More so, after her return from the reality show, she and Stacey Ervin Jr. re-connected with each other and soon started dating. However, the pair decided to go their separate ways in 2020 by calling off their relationship of three years. Biles later confirmed her split with Ervin during her cover story with Vogue. She said, “It’s hard being young and having that long of a relationship and then ending it”. Biles further added, “But it was for the best”. In August 2020, the gymnast pulled off the curtains from her relationship with NFL champion, Jonathan Owens, whom she met earlier that year.

Following her split with Ervin, Biles started dating Owens in March 2020. However, it took the couple another 5 months to make their relationship official. In August of the same year, Biles took to her Instagram to reveal her romantic amity with the NFL champion. Since then, the pair continued to give glimpses of their life together through their social media handles. More so, in January 2021, Biles gushed about Owens in an interview and stated, “Our personalities match right up. We have the same sense of humor. And he’s just great. He’s an athlete, too, so we really understand each other, and I think that’s why our relationship has been seamless”.

In July 2021, after Biles withdrew from the final all-around competition at the Tokyo Olympics due to some mental health challenges, Biles received a hoard full of support from the Houston Texans quarterback. Sharing an appreciation post for Biles on his Instagram, Owens penned, “I love you so much and I can’t wait till you come home and I get to see that beautiful smile again”. Similarly, in the same year, Biles also cheered for her significant other during Owens’ first NHL interception. She applauded the NFL superstar and wrote, “I love watching you live your dream”.

After dating for almost two years, Owens finally proposed to his lady love on Valentine’s day 2022. He planned the most fascinating proposal for the gymnast in an arbor with the sunrays complimenting the beautiful setting. Kneeling down on one knee, Owens asked Biles to marry him. In the video posted to his Instagram, Owens can be heard saying, “Well, babe, now I got you here. I want to tell you I appreciate you, so much, you know I love you. Will you marry me?”.

On this, Biles replied, “yes, yes” before asking Owens, “Did you ask my dad?”. The gymnast later called the diamond ring embellished on her finger her most prized possession. “It definitely beats a gold medal”, she said.

Interestingly, she bought herself a wedding dress in March 2020, just a month after Owens proposed to her. Since then, the couple has been giving teasers about their ongoing preparations. Nonetheless, the pre-wedding checklist has all the items checked by the pair, including a lavish bachelorette, and a golden wedding card. Though they didn’t reveal the date of their wedding nuptials, the pair hinted to their fans that the most awaited day is now just around the corner.
