Though Jackie Chan always stuns the audience with his impeccable skills, he was once left speechless by his own stunt team. Previously, while attending a talk show, his original stuntmen gave him a pleasant surprise. Back in 2017, his troupe amazed him by making a reunion on TV. Notably, he had not met them for a long time and couldn’t hold his tears after seeing the men. The unexpected sight immobilized him for some moment. And then Chan gathered himself to hug each one of the crew.

Though he was in the middle of his speech, the action-comedy star took a long pause to unite with the stuntmen. Curious? Here’s what happened.

Gestures from his old team left Jackie Chan in disbelief

Chan, 68, once attended a show called The Negotiator, where he talked about the people he used to work with. A page uploaded the video on their Reddit account. As the conversation proceeded, the host aired the video of a previous interview of Chan’s crew. The “Vanguard” star looked as if he was under a spell when the men talked about him. As the video ended, the martial artist took his time to initiate his speech. Oblivious to the fact that his old group snuck behind him and stood beside his new crew, Chan made a gesture while talking and started addressing his present ones. Only then, to his utter disbelief, he went paralyzed for a moment, as he had no idea of meeting his 40 yrs old crew. Chan, astonished, failed to utter a word until someone from the crowd called him “brother“.

Eventually, everyone burst into tears – from Chan to his team, and the spectators – making the session memorable. As a humble person, people know him for his considerable fortitude. Even, previously that day, Chan shared, “Even as I receive the Honorary Oscar today, it is shared among us”. Clearly, it is his gratitude that the legend even shared his valuable prize with his crew. His stuntmen indeed paid a tribute when they said –

“Now there are computers and animation. Technology is immensely advanced…But the JC team of those days we put our lives on the line for the art.”

Another man talked his heart out and said, “Brother, I appreciate all the opportunities you have given me…today so many people recognize me, Zhang Yaohua, because you took care of me along the way”. “For forty years we’ve been through thick and thin,” Chan said during the homage. “Fractured bones, broken limbs. Sent to hospital at five or six in the morning. No one sees that in the theatre.”

Jackie, considered one of those rarest talents, transitted from one country to the USA to fulfill his dreams. Starting his career at a very young age, he made appearances in more than 150 films. People always knew him as a jolly, funny, and comedy hero, but the segment of the TV show indeed projected another side of the legend.
