However, once Jackie Chan suffered an injury by spending $10,000. The legendary martial artist penned the incident in his autobiography,?Never Grow Up.?

In the nineteenth chapter named?Wild Things of his autobiography, Chan revealed his love for animals. He denoted himself as an animal person and recalled some of the normal and exotic pets that he had in his life. Although most of them were excellent company to him, there was one of them which cost him a near-fatal injury.?

Jackie Chan sent him back ASAP to his original place?

In?Never Grow Up, the Rush Hour actor recalled the number of pets he has had as he loves to spend time with animals. However, once he went out of limits to have an exotic pet, Chan ended up buying a lion cub. He bought the cub for $10,000 from one of his friends. As he was very small, Chan had a great time with him. He used to feed him milk, take him to the office, cradle him and playfully pinch his cheeks. The actor found him lovely and continued to have fun until that day came.?

One regular day, he was doing the same, cradling and pinching his cheeks. But it didn’t end well that day. Chan recalled,?“It batted me with its little paw, probably just to say, ‘Stop fooling around’. Its claws just grazed my face, but one whole side of my jaw was suddenly covered in blood”.?Although it was a lion cub, Jackie never even imagined in his wildest thoughts that such a small life can cause bloodshed.

As the Oscar-winning actor came to know the damage the little cub can cause. He immediately decided to turn him over to the place where he bought it from.?“I phoned the guy who?d sold me the cub and said, ‘Take it back. I?m scared.’ So he came over and collected the lion, but I never got my $10,000 back.”?

The legendary Hong Kong-born actor and martial artist has had several pets, including cats, dogs, a hawk, a sloth, a lion cub, etc. However, the lion cub was the only one to cost him $10,000 and reciprocated with an injury. Chan still loves and has pets and animals with him; however, he will surely never buy a lion cub again.
