After his mother sold one of their Hong Kong apartments, Lee bought himself a brand new 911 Porsche with his share of the sale, as per Bruce Lee: A Life by Matthew Polly. Chuck Norris was terrified of Bruce Lee’s driving
As per Lee’s autobiographical book, his exorbitant investment in the Porsche didn’t sit quite well with his family and friends. However, what was more scary to his companions was riding with him in the potentially fast vehicle. Apparently, the American martial artist was terrified after Lee offered him a ride in his car.

Bruce asked, “Chuck, come along, I’m going to take you for a ride in my Porsche.” Fearing for his life, he instantly denied. “Ah, Bruce, I’ve got to run back to my other school. I’ve got lessons to teach. See you later, but remember, you owe me a ride,” remarked Norris.
The Hong Kong star eventually asked each one of them present at the scene, Pat and Bob. But in vain, everyone made lame excuses and dodged his kind offer. “Okay, next time… I’ll see if Lewis is home,” he said. Amusingly, an overwhelmed Lee couldn’t get a hint that they didn’t want to ride with him and rushed off to Lewis’ to show off his posh vehicle. Clearly fond of luxuries, the iconic actor’s past manifestations of prosperity did come to reality.
