One such accident occurred during the filming of Armour of God, which left the team terrified to see Chan in excruciating pain.

In 1986, Chan directed and starred in Armour of God in Yugoslavia. The movie was a blend of action and comedy, and Chan performed many of his own stunts. During one scene, Chan had to jump from a wall onto a tree branch.?

The branch was supposed to break his fall and allow him to safely land on the ground. However, things didn’t go as planned. On the third attempt when Jackie Chan jumped, the branch broke, causing him to fall over 15 feet to the ground below. He hit his head on a rock, which caused a skull fracture and severe bleeding in his brain.?In his autobiography, Never Grow Up, the martial art icon wrote, ?I had no sense of time passing.
