On September 12, Sha’Carri Richardson poured her love for Coco Gauff on social media. Richardson reposted 19-year-old Coco Gauff’s Instagram post after the latter’s win at the U.S. Open. Gauff had posted a picture of herself in an all-pink outfit holding the trophy proudly.

The caption of the Instagram story read, “Barbie Dreams.” That’s not all, going by the theme, Richardson left a three-worded heartwarming note for the young champ.
“Shine Lovely Shine,” wrote Sha’Carri Richardson resharing Gauff’s post. It was also accompanied by a pink flower emoji. The caption could not have been more apt given Gauff’s performance in the finals of the U.S. Open. She started with a loss in the first set against the World No. 1, Aryna Sabalenka but was able to secure a dazzling victory at the end, winning three back-to-back sets (2-6, 6-3, 6-2).

Interestingly, apart from Sha’Carri Richardson, another track and field champion and a longtime friend, also showed her support for Gauff. The athlete posted a story to support the tennis star on her social media.
United with Sha’Carri Richardson by victory
Alongside Sha’Carri Richardson, Sydney McLaughlin Levrone also took to social media to support Gauff. The 24-year-old sprinter posted a short clip of Gauff taking a short break amid the heated game against Sabalenka with the encouraging words, “LETS GOOOOOO” in the caption. Levrone had to cut her season short because of a nagging knee injury but that did not affect her support for a fellow sportsperson.

Both Sh’aCarri Richardson and Coco Gauff have helped to bring back the glory of the United States in the sports community this year. The success is further sweetened by the cross-sport respect.
