When Stephanie White got to experience Caitlin Clark’s fanbase for the first time, it was intense. 45 minutes  — that’s exactly how much it took for her to get to the arena, which was about half a mile away. “From our staff and franchise, it’s how do we help her navigate all of this? How do we help her protect her peace? Because it can be a lot,” she revealed her perspective earlier this year. While it took some time and adjustment, now, with just six games left before the postseason, White seems much more comfortable with it… doesn’t she?

If you ask us at EssentiallySports Newsdesk, we would say yes. While she wasn’t against those fans before, now she’s just acknowledging how “special” this fan base is for CC. And what’s better than applauding after CC’s signature logo is out? So, in a press conference after the Fever’s “Clark out” inside Gainbridge Arena, White shared, “It’s special… She’s a connector. She brings people together.”

Yes, she does. Just last year, the Indy averaged a league-best 17,000 fans per home game, even outdrawing their NBA counterparts, the Pacers. And if that’s not enough, every fan at Gainbridge Arena who received a white “Caitlin was here” t-shirt with her new signature logo can justify her being a connector. However, fans and CC’s bond isn’t just limited to there. Even the design of interlocking Cs with a smaller C inside, which CC helped craft, represents her bond with fans.

But if you ask HC, CC getting this opportunity is “special” as she impacts not only within basketball but globally, “just by being who she is.” “For us to be a part of that — whether it’s as simple as being able to celebrate all of these things with her or as much as walking out into the arena and seeing the white-out on the chairs out there — it’s really cool,” White added.

It makes sense considering CC’s never failed to contribute her bit until now. Be it donating through her Caitlin Clark Foundation to those in need, or just making the experience valuable for those who come from afar, she’s been doing all of that. “I don’t take that for granted… I’m glad I can be a role model for them. They have a great impact on me too. That’s why you do it,” Caitlin Clark said earlier this year, explaining why she spends hours signing memorabilia.

So, while she didn’t play a single minute in Baltimore back in May, she still owned the court. On a night when Indy battled the Mystics for the W’s first-ever game in Charm City, CC walked the length of the court and signed autographs for a full 12 minutes. But come on, it’s a common sight by now. Even the last game versus the Lynx was yet another example, as fans waited almost two hours just to catch a glimpse of her. But while CC’s serving fans off court… can she also do it on court anytime soon?

Stephanie White’s got an update

None could deny that it’s high time CC was spotted burying those logo threes — and we miss them already. But with six games left before the postseason, there’s finally a glimpse of hope. Though not exactly what fans might have been dying to hear, she reportedly took part in a walk-through this Monday.

“She went through it yesterday… I want to see her in practice. Live in practice. I want to see her continue to work to not just build endurance, but to be able to handle contact [for] 94 feet as it’s going to be in-game, and to be able to do that and sustain from an endurance standpoint,” she shared in a post-game press conference.

Averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists across 13 games so far this season, CC had been struggling with her 3-point shooting for a few weeks prior to her right groin injury. So yes, returning to full health and improving her accuracy will be a huge key for the Fever — especially since their point guard options are limited, with Sydney, Sophie, and Aari all out for the season. Now, the only hope for the Fever to play in the postseason is CC. But can she?
