After a rookie year full of broken records, Angel Reese and Chicago Sky fans were expecting more of the same from her in her sophomore year. However, her sophomore year had a strange beginning. Even though she did manage three points and rebound double-doubles, for Angel Reese’s high standards, it wasn’t enough. However, ever since her return from a back injury, Angel Reese has continued to perform at an elite level. During last night’s game against the Seattle Storm, she made history yet again.

She finished the game with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Interestingly, this was her 10th time in her career that she managed to record a stat sheet like this. With this, she tied former WNBA legends Sylvia Fowles, Candice Dupree, and Elena Delle Donne for the most 20+ points and 10+ rebounds games in the Chicago Sky’s history. However, despite her record performance, the Chicago Sky still lost the game 79-69. Unfortunately for the Chicago fans, that has been the recurring theme for them this year: Angel Reese putting up monster numbers, but the team not being able to win the game.
Due to this, questions have been asked of the front office as well. Their inability to surround Reese with a competitive squad has led the fans to show their frustration with this situation. In fact, during the broadcast of Chicago’s game against Seattle, a possible member of the Seattle Storm’s broadcast team had some interesting thoughts about the rest of the Chicago team. “You get her surrounded with a lot of players that are the same caliber of player she is, and it’s going to be interesting to see how she performs,” said the broadcaster.

Fan’s Reaction to Seattle Storm Broadcaster’s Angel Reese Demand
A fan commented on the WNBA’s post, alluding to the points made by the possible Seattle commentary team. They commented, “Like the Seattle commentator said tonight, Surrounded Angel with players of her caliber. Watch what type of player she turns into when she gets an All-Star guard by her side.” Having a lack of quality at the guard position is a major concern for the Chicago Sky. They had hoped to solve the problem after adding players like Courtney Vandersloot and Hailey Van Lith. However, with Courtney suffering a season-ending injury just seven games into the season and Hailey struggling to adapt to the WNBA, their problems were compounded.
“I just want her to see the success she deserves. Put her with some consistent talent, please.” Another fan commented on the WNBA’s post. With the Chicago Sky suffering yet another disappointing season, fans are clearly demanding more from the front office to add some more quality pieces around Angel Reese. Granted, Reese is still very young and has a long career ahead of her. But when you get to draft a generational talent like Angel Reese in your ranks, you should do as much as you can to have more and more chances to win championships.
Another fan replied to the post with a specific request for the team’s management. They commented, “She needs really good shooters around her, Chicago needs to do something cuz it’s getting worse and it’s very concerning 🤧. But good job AR5 anyways 👏.” Angel Reese has improved her game from her rookie season. While the major improvement has been in her playmaking, she has also improved her shooting. The current WNBA season has seen her shooting numbers jump from 39% in the 2024 season to 46% in 2025.
However, one aspect that still needs some work is her perimeter shooting. Till now, she is averaging just 20% from beyond the arc. Sure, we can say that Angel’s game is more in the paint, but the rest of the team isn’t shooting well enough to negate Reese’s lack of shooting threat. In the current season, only Kamilla Cardoso and Elizabeth Wilson have shot better than 45% from the floor.

Another fan echoed the sentiment of Angel Reese needing help. They commented, “Reese needs help in CHICAGO!!” Sure, we can say that Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky are currently in the rebuilding stage, but last season, they finished with a 13-27 record. This year, things are even worse with the team having already lost 30 games. With 5 more games remaining, the Chicago may end up making history, but for the wrong reasons. They are within range of being the team with the most losses in a WNBA season in the league’s history.

With all the comments and demands coming from the Chicago Sky supporters, the front office needs to work on adding some more quality to the squad. The good thing is that they are going to have a high lottery pick this year. This would give them a chance to either draft another potential generational talent or to build a convincing package and swing for a big offseason trade. It’s clear that the fans are already getting frustrated with the lack of team results.
As much as Angel Reese has kept them entertained with her play, at the end of the day, both fans and the players want to compete at the highest levels of the playoffs. To ensure that the team gets there, it is now time for the front office to set things straight and add some quality to help Angel Reese.
