Pro wrestling can be a tough job because of the rigorous schedules and the constant traveling. While some are able to cope with this stress, others take to alcohol for some relief. But this in the long run becomes really harmful for the wrestlers as in the case of AEW star Jon Moxley. Exactly 2 years ago, Moxley checked himself into rehab for alcohol addiction. And now he has opened up, thanking his really strong support system consisting of his wife and baby girl.

Moxley had almost given up on life but these 2 people gave him a reason to stay alive.

For almost 2 years before checking himself into the rehab, Moxley was drinking alcohol daily. Most of the time it would be in excess. He tried quitting alcohol on several occasions but the withdrawal symptoms were unbearable.

Then on Halloween in 2021, Moxley informed his wife Renee Paquette that he needed to check into a rehab center. So while trick-or-treating, Moxley dialed the Desert Hope Treatment Center. He then caught a cab and went straight to rehab. His phone was taken away and he was there for almost 3 months. Post his return, he jumped straight back to wrestling and is thankful for every morning when he wakes up.

In his recent interview with The Messenger, Moxley opened up about how his daughter and wife gave him the strength to take the tough decision of going to rehab. When talking about his daughter Nora who gives him motivation, he said, “Whatever I do, whatever choices I make, she’s going to see that”, he then added, “Or see that eventually as she gets older”.

When speaking about his wife he said, “Without Renee, I couldn’t even tell you what my life would have ended up like. It’s probably the most fortunate thing to ever happen. God knows. I could be f*****g buried in the desert in Vegas right now”.

He even mentioned that “I’m not always the easiest person to be around. I have crazy mood swings and s**t like that”. Keeping all this in mind, Moxley is deeply thankful to his wife and daughter for being there when he needed them the most.

Talking about not being the easiest person to be around, one AEW superstar who recently won the AEW International Championship wants to reignite his feud with Moxley.

Orange Cassidy said he has unfinished business with Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley just returned back to wrestling last week after suffering a concussion in a match last month. And just as he returned, he was targeted by Orange Cassidy who bumped into him on purpose while he was exiting the ring.

This infuriated Moxley who went on to attack Cassidy but the two were later separated. Moxley was the one who defeated Cassidy at All Out to become the new AEW International Championship. Sadly he lost the championship just a few weeks later to Rey Fénix at Dynamite: Grand Slam. But just a few weeks ago, Cassidy beat Fénix to become the first-ever two-time International Champion.

Cassidy clearly expressed that he had some unfinished business with Moxley. And that was very evident from the bump-in that happened while he entered the ring. Will we get to see a title bout between Moxley and Cassidy? Only time will tell.
