Tony Khan’s AEW Welcomes Comforting News After Kenny Omega’s Untimely Illness

The ongoing year has been a mixed bag for AEW. While they witnessed the return of CM Punk to the WWE shortly after his release from the promotion, they also almost beat the WWE’s record for most footfalls in a pay-per-view event. More sad news struck the AEW fan base as Kenny Omega stayed absent from shows due to an untimely illness.

However, as per recent developments, Tony Khan and his brand finally have a positive development. One prominent and fan-favorite AEW member is making his return.

The person in question is Jim Ross. The voice synonymous with pro wrestling has been missing from action for weeks now, owing to his failing health. Ross, 71, will be attending the December 20 episode of AEW Dynamite. The event will take place in Oklahoma City.

Ross’s availability was confirmed by fellow commentator Tony Schiavone. According to Schiavone, Ross will help the promotion celebrate its Holiday Bash episode. Ross, who is set to celebrate 50 years in the business in 2024, is a fan favorite, hailed as one of the best commentators in the pro wrestling world.

His presence will no doubt boost the morale of the AEW fans, who have witnessed the company lose prominent faces in the last few months, along with a dip in ratings.
