Cole called Rollins a puppeteer and a manipulator, while Punk had used something similar during his indie days at ROH promotion. Another reference was made when Rollins was advertised for Fastlane on promotional material.
WWE even made Shinsuke Nakamura use a move similar to Punk’s GTS on RAW this week on Ricochet. However, WWE has denied on the surface any chance of Punk’s return including a statement from their official.
