Brock Lesnar’s Name Finds a Mention in WWE Official Statements Following Paul Heyman Hall of Fame Announcement

One of WWE’s most prolific figures, Paul Heyman, has recently been announced as an inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame. While Heyman isn’t a wrestler, he does have one of the best mic works, right from the time he used to be the advocate of Brock Lesnar. They were WWE’s best Wrestler-Manager combo; an iconic one.
The act was what really cemented Heyman as a spotlight entertainer instead of a background operations manager. While Heyman is currently the Wiseman of The Bloodline, his partnership with Brock Lesnar was all the rage. In fact, even WWE didn’t try to push Lesnar out of the picture in its latest declaration.

“Ladies and gentlemen. My name is Paul Heyman.” The WWE Universe booms with this dialogue in the stands along with Heyman whenever he greets them. The first time they heard this iconic line was when he regarded Brock Lesnar as the undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
While WWE has currently suspended all ties with Lesnar, they ensured to give credit where it’s due. The Wrestling Blog added a new tweet on X highlighting this by sharing a screenshot of Heyman’s updated bio on the official WWE website.

The description read, “Time and again, however, Heyman was able to find his way back in, forming alliances with Superstars like CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, Big Show, and Kurt Angle.” Who can forget how Paul Heyman saw the potential in a young Lesnar and guided him in the beginning? Plus, this comes as a good gesture from the company which has distanced itself from Lesnar for the time being.

Last year, news broke out that there had been internal discussions about a match between Lesnar and Gunther at WrestleMania in April. But the plans couldn’t go through because of unexpected controversies. Rumors about someone matching Lesnar’s description being named in a lawsuit filed against WWE were heard. Things went downhill from there. So, WWE mentioning Lesnar in their official statement seems big. Interestingly, this isn’t the only gesture of goodwill from WWE. They also often ensure his place in one of their biggest digital assets.

Keeping a small tie intact with Brock Lesnar
When Lesnar’s name came up in Vince McMahon’s scandalous and infamous lawsuit, WWE had to act and exclude him from almost everything. Brock Lesnar doesn’t feature anywhere in WWE’s promos now and has been ejected from every active storyline. Despite this, however, The Beast Incarnate hasn’t been completely removed from WWE 2k24.
While Brock Lesnar isn’t a part of the main roster in the game, he is available in the 2K Showcase mode. This section of the game allows players to revisit iconic matches as a celebration of 40 years of WrestleMania.
