In an interview with the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer hinted at a possible WWE comeback for CM Punk, revealing, “Regarding CM Punk returning. There have been rumors that it’s happening, but those in WWE have only said that no deal is completed and those close to Punk have told us that it is his intention to return and the two sides are in talks.”

Punk’s AEW departure, marked by backstage altercations, especially at AEW All In London, has raised eyebrows. If Punk does return to WWE, it could be one of wrestling’s most anticipated moments, given his contentious exit from the company in 2014.

As fans ponder a WWE return, Meltzer suggested a surprise comeback at the Survivor Series weekend in Chicago, adding to the intrigue. During his AEW stint, Punk achieved success but also faced backstage issues, making his WWE return a topic of intense speculation.

Shawn Michaels, the creative head of NXT, has expressed his keen desire to bring CM Punk into the NXT fold. During a recent media call ahead of No Mercy last week, the Hall of Famer shared his sentiments, saying, “Well, of course, we’d leave him here in NXT.
