Yes, The Rock has set a massive milestone in the WWE, whereas CM Punk couldn’t acknowledge the fact. When The Rock returned to the WWE back in 2012, he was in a feud with 16-time World Champion John Cena.

Matt McCarthy recollected when CM Punk refused to do a promo or lines provided to him. The AEW star denied cutting the promo because he didn’t want to put Dwayne Johnson over him.
“I remember [CM] Punk being handed a promo about The Rock and him refusing to [say it]. He’s like, ‘So now I’ve got to f**king put over The Rock? F**k that.’ I remember that happening. I don’t recall anyone walking out per se,” McCarthy mentioned.
Of course, The Rock is the biggest attraction that Vince McMahon’s WWE has witnessed. So when he returned to the company in 2012, it was after a decade!

Even though Punk was having a ball with his WWE Championship run, it was time for Dwayne Johnson to battle for the World title after a decade.

When the feud started between the two, CM Punk humbled The Rock as he delivered the most fabulous promo. In addition, Punk was pretty confident before his challenge against Dwayne Johnson at Royal Rumble 2013.
“Come Royal Rumble! Understand when you step in the ring, your arms are just too short to box with God,” CM Punk asserted on The Rock.
