Finally, some respite for WWE. After a rough last week where the newly merged organization kicked out over 15 superstars, there is at last a ray of positivity for the brand. With social networking and media going bonkers with the new recruitment hired by WWE, turns out a very special superstar had a part in the entity moving over to WWE.

After helping out Jey Uso on screen with his return, it seems like Cody Rhodes has once again waved his magic wand off-screen this time, becoming one of the factors for Jade Cargill to make a jump to WWE.

While her matches were always splendid, it’s her astonishing records that set her apart. She became the inaugural AEW TBS Champion after defeating Ruby Soho in 2022. This was just the beginning as she held the title for a record 508 days as champion, cementing her place as the longest reigning champion in AEW history.

What’s more fascinating is that she also had an undefeated winning streak of 60 matches. With so much momentum, it was bound for WWE to recruit her. But what led to her choosing WWE? While there were many reasons, one reason was Cody Rhodes.

Recently Jade Cargill appeared on The Ringer Wrestling Show. On the podcast, she spoke about Rhodes by saying: “He was top three, and not third. He is a phenomenal man. You know I’ve seen what the business did for him. I’ve seen him just be the stellar athlete that he is. I didn’t see any different for myself… He was one of the guys that led me to a great decision,”

This doesn’t surprise many, considering how the two worked on the same promotion earlier and Rhodes has developed a reputation of being an incredible spokesman for WWE. This also helps boost WWE’s image after a horrible spree of releases last week.

The shocking spree of superstar releases

Last week, WWE fans got the biggest jolt when the company released as many as close to 19 superstars in a single day.

While the extensive list involved names like Elias and Mustafa Ali, it’s Dolph Ziggler, whose departure hurt the most. Not to forget the respect he commanded from fans and fellow wrestlers, it was obvious that the company would face the wrath of the WWE Universe.

To further bury their head in the sand, they also let go of Matt Riddle, who was a fan favorite for many, especially because of his RKOBRO tag team partnership with Randy Orton.
