A dominating female wrestler is a rare sight in the WWE. The physicality of Chyna, Beth Pheonix, Rhea Ripley, and many others makes fans beg for inter-gender matches. These women dominated their female division and encountered and took on their male counterparts. Ripley would like to bring back inter-gender matches with a final feud with an out-of-contract WWE Hall of Famer.

Ripley has showcased her monstrous strength multiple times in the squared circle. She has demolished the female division and has now set her sights to someone she once considered her idol. Would an intergender match work in 2023 WWE?

Edge has been among the most celebrated and loved WWE stars since the 2000s. He made his televised debut in 1998 and, with best friend Christian, captivated the audience well into the 2000s. Along with the Hardy Boyz, they elevated the Tables, Ladders, and chair matches with feats of wrestling never seen before. Cementing himself as one of the icons of his generation, Edge’s contract with the WWE ended after his 25-year celebration on SmackDown this year.

During his time in the WWE, many fans thought his career ended in 2011 when he was forced to retire due to his neck injury. He entered the WWE Hall of Fame the very next year. However, fans were both surprised and excited when he returned to the #21 spot at the 2020 Royal Rumble and won. He had another career run in the WWE and created The Judgment Day.

Despite winning over Finn Balor and Damian Priest, Ripley was the only member he never feuded with. During an interview with India Today, Ripley mentioned that she would still love to have a feud with Edge. She said, “It was a great time, and, I’d be down for another round of that.” She was talking about working with Edge in Judgment Day before betraying him. With the Rated R Superstar mulling over his future and his best friend denying him moving over to AEW, it is left to be seen whether the two will ever face off. An inter-gender match is not something new for the WWE.

Possible Reason Why Nia Jax Attacked Rhea Ripley on WWE RAW

She continued, “Just get those dream matches out of it like if I could go back in time and tell my younger self that I was going to be a lowblowing Edge pretty much and just like beating him up all the time, I would not believe it.” As mentioned earlier, Ripley has always looked up to Edge, so she joined The Judgment Day. Working with her childhood hero was a dream come true for her. This is one reason she would like to be the last opponent Edge faces in the WWE.

Ripley would emerge as an outstanding contender after the reign of dominance she has established in the promotion.

Ripley’s dominance over the WWE

Unsurprisingly, Ripley is one of the most dominant wrestlers in the women’s division. The constant display of her strength in the ring has made fans look at her as the next Chyna. Chyna was among the first women in the WWE to have an inter-gender match, and she even won the Intercontinental Championship title three times. While other female stars have had inter-gender matches, solo matches have been a rare sight to see.

Edge was also part of inter-gender matches in the WWE. The most prominent one was at One Night Stand 2006, where Edge, Lita, and Mick Foley took on Beulah McGillicutty, Terry Funk, and Tommy Dreamer. Edge won the match by spearing and pinning McGillicutty. Fans love the storyline of The Judgment Day and Edge and would love to see Ripley take on her idol. But, with Edge’s contract expired, only time will tell if that will ever be possible.
